20 “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”
Romans 4 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. This chapter discusses the example of our spiritual father Abraham who obtained the promise first that he would be the father of many nations and that he and his wife Sarah would conceive the promised child Isaac. From Genesis’s account we read that Sarah wanted to help God in fulfilling the promise of giving them a Son. However we see that God meant what he said and that is at 100 years of age and 90 years of age, Abraham and Sarah would have a son! At this time Abraham was frail and Sarah’s womb was barren–an impossible situation for man, but just right for God!
From verses 21 and 22, we as believers should have hope and inspiration by Abraham’s faith. Abraham did not doubt God’s Word but he was fully persuaded! Abraham had the evidence that God was real in his life. My brothers and sisters we also have evidence of God’s existence because God has done something in my life and your life that you know only God could do!
I’ve had the awesome opportunity of receiving God sent prophecies about things that only God and I had discussed in quiet time. God has spoken several promises over my life some of which have come to pass and others I am waiting and believing God to bring them to pass just as Abraham believed!
So what are you believing God for? Still waiting on the promises of God in your life? Well, dear reader, don’t fret because God is working out the details in the background and he will bring your promise(s) to fruition! Continue to remind God of his promises and encourage yourself in reading and in prayer and in a time of fasting! What I’m writing applies to me as well!
Be blessed and I pray that someone is encouraged by this note! Don’t fret God will do it! Just believe!
