Warfare

” Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you..” 1 Peter 4:12

Ever felt like the devil was using people to pick on you? Ever had something happen out of the blue? Well, I’ve got news for you. The moment God called you and changed you, you become a target for the enemy. Satan fears the anointing God has put in your life. Why you ask? Satan knows that when God brought you out that you’d tell others about your experience with God.

In today’s scripture, Peter basically is stating (paraphrasing) that don’t be surprised at the amount of spiritual warfare attacking you. It’s the enemy’s plot to distract you and most importantly make you give up. Satan will try to use family and friends to try to distract you because they are closer to your heart; you let your guard down. Ephesians 6:12 declares that we are not fighting a physical battle but a spiritual battle.

So how do we fight the enemy’s attacks? Paul said in Ephesians 6:11 states: “Put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” We have to put on God’s Holy armour in its entirety so we can recognize the enemy schemes or wiles. The more time we spend with God, the more we discern the warfare aimed to distract us from God’s divine purpose for our life.
